Wind River Hotel and Casino
You can't plan a trip to Wyoming without stopping at the Wind River Casino and Hotel. As Wyoming's premiere casino, there is much to do and enjoy, whether you are just passing through or staying a few nights. Even if you weren't planning a trip to Wyoming any time soon, you will change your mind after you learn more about this exciting casino nestled in the center of Wyoming.
Games Galore
Since it is the largest casino in Wyoming, you would assume they have the most games, and you would be right. The casino floor is 25,000 sq feet and has around 800 slot and video poker machines. In addition, the casino has multiple table games for those looking to try their hand outside the slot realm.
One of the more popular table games at Wind River is blackjack, and they have a variety of tables with minimum bets of $5 and maximum bets of $500. The casino also offers American and European roulette with a minimum bet of $2 for both and a maximum bet of $100 for American and $200 for European roulette. They also offer a variety of other table games, including Craps, Baccarat, and of course, Poker.
Since this is one of the few casinos with table games in Wyoming, the Wind River Casino has established a few etiquette rules for table games to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable time. No cell phone use is allowed at the table, no smoking at the table, no loitering; players should treat each other respectfully, including no cursing or aggressive behavior.
Hotel
You won't find better accommodations in Wyoming than the hotel at the Wind River Casino. Their standard rooms come with two queen or one king bed and everything you could ask for in a room. Wifi, a fridge, a microwave, and a 48" TV are just a few of the amenities you can expect in each room.
If you are traveling with extra needs or pets, the hotel has you covered. They have wheelchair-friendly rooms with extra space and handrails in the bathroom. If you have your furry friend along, they have specific pet-friendly rooms for a slight surcharge with wood floors and pet-friendly furniture.
If you want to enjoy the lap of luxury while visiting, you can book one of their suites. It has a small kitchen, three flat-screen TVs, a separate living room, and a double jacuzzi spa.
If you are traveling by RV, Wind River still has you covered with a dedicated RV lot. For only $25 a night, you get a place to park, access to 50 and 120-amp power plugins, and Wifi.
Since Wind River is a dry casino, they respectfully ask that guests do not bring alcohol onto the premises.
More to Offer
While the hotel and casino portions are something to be proud of, the Wind River Casino doesn't stop there. The casino offers two restaurants, a cafe, and a coffee shop. There is also a banquet and conference room perfect for all kinds of events, from business meetings to wedding receptions. Another remarkable feature you won't find at most casinos is a gift shop with Wind River branded apparel, Native American arts and collectibles, and your other convenience store needs.
What to Do Outside the Hotel
There is so much to do inside the hotel that there is no reason to leave, but if you ever want to venture outside the casino Riverton has a lot to offer.
Riverton has a unique collection of history in a relatively small town. Start by visiting the Riverton Museum, which has a collection of local history and Native American artifacts. Then head over to the Wind River Heritage Center to appreciate 27 lifelike wax figures and 62 full-body wildlife mounts that tell the story of Western settlement and the role the Natives played in Western exploration. You will also find local beadwork for sale and a collection of horse-drawn farm equipment. If you have kids with you, stop at the Wyoming Children's Center for Art, Science, and Technology for an entertaining, educational experience.
After learning about the heritage and history of the area, head over to the High Plains Reflections Gallery. This family-owned and operated gallery offers functional handmade ceramics and Nature photography in several formats. If you want to enjoy the area's natural beauty, don't miss the beauty of the Castle Gardens Petroglyph Site.
The Shoshone Tribe has four casinos within a 130-mile radius, and while Wind River is the largest and most diverse, that doesn't mean the others don't warrant a day visit. If you are looking for a change of scenery, take a trip to any of these other casinos and enjoy the slots and local culture around the Wind River Reservation.
